How to Connect RunLeague to Health Connect on Android
RunLeague uses Health Connect to securely access your fitness activity on Android. On some devices, Health Connect is already built into Android. On older devices, it may need to be installed separately.
1Check if Health Connect is already available
Search your phone's Settings for Health Connect.
Depending on the Android or Samsung version, Health Connect may be accessible from Settings → Security and privacy → Health Connect, or through the installed Health Connect app.
Samsung menus can vary depending on the Android and One UI version. If search finds Health Connect, you can skip installation and go to permissions.
2If Health Connect is not available, install it
If you cannot find Health Connect on your phone:
- Open the Google Play Store
- Search for Health Connect by Android
- Install it
- Open Health Connect
Some older Android devices do not include Health Connect as a built-in system feature. On these devices, you may need to install Health Connect separately from Google Play.
Not every Android version behaves the same way. If the Play Store says Health Connect is not available for your device, Health Connect may not be supported on that phone.
Install Health Connect3Give RunLeague permission
Once Health Connect is installed:
- Open Health Connect
- Open App permissions
- Find RunLeague
- Allow the permissions requested by RunLeague
RunLeague only requests the health data needed to provide its fitness tracking and challenge features:
- Steps
- Distance
- Active energy (calories)
- Past health data history
4Using Samsung Health?
If you use Samsung Health, you may need to allow Samsung Health to share your fitness data with Health Connect.
- Open Samsung Health
- Open its settings
- Find the Health Connect option
- Enable the relevant data sharing permissions
- Make sure the data RunLeague needs, such as Steps and Distance, can be shared with Health Connect
The exact location and wording can vary depending on the Samsung Health version. Look for Health Connect in Samsung Health settings rather than following a single menu path.
5Return to RunLeague
Once Health Connect is installed and your permissions are configured, return to RunLeague and try connecting your health data again.
The app will then check Health Connect availability and request the required permissions. After installing Health Connect, restarting your phone can help if RunLeague still cannot find it.
